Autotask to HaloPSA Migration (and Back Again)

Considering a move from Autotask to HaloPSA? Or HaloPSA to Autotask? We've guided MSPs through PSA migrations from ConnectWise, Autotask, and HaloPSA in both directions — without losing data, history, or momentum along the way.

Why MSPs move from Autotask to HaloPSA

Most of the migrations we run are Autotask to HaloPSA, as MSPs look for a more modern, flexible PSA with stronger automation and a lower total cost of ownership. We've also guided MSPs through ConnectWise to HaloPSA migrations — and, where it's genuinely the right call for the business, HaloPSA to Autotask migrations too.

Frequently asked questions

How do I migrate from Autotask to HaloPSA?

An Autotask to HaloPSA migration starts with mapping your existing contracts, tickets, and configuration items, then rebuilding your workflows and automations natively in HaloPSA before a staged data migration and cutover, with staff training either side.

Can you migrate HaloPSA to Autotask as well as Autotask to HaloPSA?

Yes. While most of our migration work is Autotask (or ConnectWise) to HaloPSA, we also support MSPs migrating in the other direction, from HaloPSA to Autotask, using the same structured migration process.

Will we lose historical data during a HaloPSA/Autotask migration?

No — ticket history, contract data, and client records are mapped and migrated as part of the process, not left behind. We plan the data migration up front so nothing gets lost in the switch.

How long does a PSA migration take?

It depends on the size of your MSP and how customised your current PSA is, but most Autotask to HaloPSA migrations are planned and executed over a matter of weeks, not months, with minimal disruption to live tickets.
